The Health Services Unit is strategically located within the University Campus, accessible to all the clients. It is adequately manned by qualified and competent staff. The Unit is divided into the following areas: a Nurse's Station, a treatment area, waiting area, a Medical Clinic, a Dental Clinic, a six-bed ward for female patients that is individually separated by varifold to insure privacy and isolation when called for, a three-bed ward for male patients, two wash rooms, a record room, a Health Supervisor's Office and storage room. Each area is completely furnished with furniture, equipment and materials necessary for health care delivery.
Generalities:
The Clinic is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Emergency calls after 5:00 PM responded to resident Sister nurses.
Services offered:
2.1 Annual physical (Medical and Dental) examinations for students and employees.
2.2 Daily consultation and treatments.
2.3 Referrals to specialist, with the consent of the client's parents or guardian.
2.4 Follow-ups of cases referred by our school doctors.
Specifics:
A. Physical Examination
Every student is required undergo annual physical (Medical and Dental) examinations, as scheduled by the Health Clinic.
Students who are absent on their scheduled dates for physical examination for valid reason/s are accommodated at a later date according to the physicians discretion.
Strict compliance of the above is a MUST. It is a pre-requisite for obtaining Clearance and for the issuance of medical and dental certificates on the following instances.
before final exams
when applying for re-entry by returning student
before exposure for practicum
before the first day of the planned swimming lessons.
before participating in athletics and sports activities.
Late physical examination shall be meted with penalty plus an immediate compliance of the requirement.
B. Consultations and Treatments
The Clinic is open to the entire school population for consultations and treatments.
Depending upon the findings, the client is:
2.1 given medication and sent back to the classroom to resume classes:
2.2 allowed to stay for some time in the clinic's In-Patients' room for further observation;
advised to go home after the clinic staff has informed and arranged the matter with the client's parents or guardian, for:
2.3.1 Those running a temperature of 37.8C and above.
2.3.2 Those suffering from contagious diseases like measles, chicken pox, sore eyes, etc;
2.3.3 Those whose symptoms are unbearable or severe and are not relieved with the initial medication given in the clinic;
2.3.4 Those who need further bed-rest.
The Clinic staff coordinated with the concerned department or unit head regarding significant health-illness condition of their constituents.
Other Services
Health services are available during extra-curricular activities such as sportsfest, institutional celebrations, and other designated school activities.
Records of services, treatments, consultations rendered in the Clinic, monitoring and control of resources are done and maintained.
Health reports to the Department of Health and the Department of Education, Culture and Sports are submitted quarterly.
Regular inspection of the school buildings and campus in done.
Samples of water collected from different sources in the school buildings and campus are sent to reliable laboratory for potability analysis twice a year.
Immunization done with DOH and DEPED teams, after soliciting parents/guardian's consent.
