The President's Message:

(Cont.)

The president's call sprung from the theme of the 18th SPC Educators' Congress held on May 17-19, 2007, at St. Paul College Pasig. The congress was participated by school/academic heads of Paulinian schools from various parts of the country and abroad, including Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, Korea and Australia.
In her keynote address, Sister Lucilla emphasizes that connectedness and a deep sense of community serve as the anchor of evangelization in education.

"...WE ARE, IN MORE WAYS
THAN ONE, LEARNING FROM
ONE ANOTHER..."

She intones: "Let me take the liberty of calling everyone in the community educators because whatever role we have in the institution, we are, in more ways than one, learning from one another and thus, becoming educators."
The university president then presents to the community the Performance Management Process (PMP) that shall be used in the nest five years. The PMP highlights the Vision-Mission of the school and the five core values of the St. Paul of Chartres Education Ministry (SPCEM); namely: Christ-centeredness, Charity, Charism, Commission, and Community. Furthermore, it includes the five strategic priorities of the SPCEM, such as: Direct Service to the Poor, Institutionalized Pastoral Program, Holistic Formation, Lay Empowerment and Alignment of Policies, Systems and Procedures with the SPC identity.
These priorities serve as the foundation of all strategic and operational plans created by each department and unit in SPUQC, not to mention that these plans are to manifest in the Individual Action Plans.
These priorities have proven to be fruitful, not just for SPUQC, but also for other Paulinian schools, for they gave birth to the eight Key Result Areas (KRAs):
(1) Integrated Human Resource Management System.
(2) Curriculum Development
(3) Research
(4) Student Care and Development
(5) Alliances
(6) Strategic Goal-Quality Leadership Management
(7) Resource Viability and Sustainability, and
(8) Institutional Community Extension Program.
These KRAs, of course, serve as the framework of each department or unit when drafting an action plan that is envisioned to bring about fruitful results for the institution.
With these themes in mind, Sister Lucilla admits that the University is going to face such a formidable task. However, she believes that the proper alignment and a profound sense of community play a crucial role in evangelization. She stresses that if all sectors of SPUQC possess the will to align their plans and their goals with those of the institution and work hand in hand; then, evangelization through Paulinian education shall be a way of life. Moreover, the people in SPUQC interweave evangelization in their own culture.
